Quarter 1
Quarter 2
Lab School modules explored micro:bits and their many uses. Students learned how to write code that programmed the micro:bit to play a song, scroll their names across the screen, collect temperature data, animate an image, and more. In one module, students worked in teams to model the processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration using Legos. They timed themselves with a micro:bit, and made inferences as to what could impact the processes' rates in the real world. Another module involved students making predictions about the warmest, coolest, darkest, and brightest locations in the classroom. After writing code for and collecting data with the micro:bit they inferred which locations might be ideal for growing an indoor plant.
